Is anyone else seeing increased workload with fewer resources lately?

Been with the company for a few years now, mostly in lumber/pro desk. Lately, it feels like we're constantly understaffed. We're getting the same amount of truck volume, if not more, and the same number of customers, but there are fewer associates on the floor, especially during peak hours. Management keeps talking about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining processes,' but it just feels like we're expected to do more with less. Callouts are becoming the norm because people are burnt out. I'm seeing seasoned associates looking for exits, and the new hires don't stick around long. It's making it really hard to get basic tasks done, let alone provide the level of customer service we're supposed to. Anyone else in other departments or stores feeling this? Curious if this is a widespread thing or just my location.

Yeah, it's getting rough out there. Been in garden for a while, and it feels like we're always playing catch-up. They push for speed, but the sheer volume of what needs to get done, from stocking to customer help, just isn't feasible with the skeleton crew we often have. It's frustrating when you know things could be running smoother if there were just a couple more hands on deck during busy periods. Burnout is definitely a real thing and it's understandable why people are calling out more often.**

I've noticed it too, across different departments. It seems like the expectation is that we can magically handle everything with fewer people. While I appreciate the push for efficiency, it often translates to associates being stretched way too thin. It's hard to provide the level of service customers expect and deserve when you're constantly racing against the clock and can't even get to half the tasks piling up. It's becoming a pretty unsustainable environment for many.
