Management talking about 'efficiency' - what does that mean for us?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter in my store lately about 'streamlining operations' and 'increasing efficiency.' Management keeps bringing it up in meetings, but it feels a bit vague, you know? Normally I wouldn't think twice about it, but given the general climate out there with other companies, I'm starting to wonder if this is a precursor to something. Has anyone else heard similar buzz? Are there any specific initiatives being rolled out that seem particularly designed to cut costs or headcount? I'm just trying to get a read on the temperature. My workload has been pretty intense lately, and I'm wondering if this 'efficiency' push means we'll be expected to do even more with less. Curious to hear if anyone has any inside info or has seen similar trends across different Home Depot locations.

Honestly, 'efficiency' usually just means they want us to do more with less. Could be new tech, could be tighter scheduling, or, yeah, unfortunately, it might mean fewer people doing the same amount of work. I'd keep an eye on how it plays out and try to document any changes that seem to make your job harder or require you to take on new responsibilities without proper support or training. Better to be prepared for potential shifts.
