Hey, I haven't been through layoffs at Home Depot myself, but I worked with a few people who were part of a reduction in force about five years ago. From what I remember, it wasn't incredibly generous, but it wasn't terrible either. They did get a few weeks of pay per year of service, and I think health benefits were extended for a couple of months. Definitely try to get clarity directly from HR if you can, don't rely solely on rumors. Good luck, I hope it doesn't come to that.
Honestly, I wouldn't put too much stock in rumors about severance packages. Companies are usually pretty tight-lipped about that stuff until it actually happens, and even then, it can vary depending on the specific circumstances.
