Elizabeth site cuts: Is the footprint shrinking again?

Just saw the notification about the 131 heads in Elizabeth being trimmed. Honestly, I’m not even shocked at this point. It feels like every time we turn around, there’s another 'restructuring' initiative coming down from corporate to make the numbers look pretty for the shareholders. The communication is always the same—vague corporate jargon about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' while the people on the ground are left wondering if their badge will still work on Monday morning. Does anyone actually think we're done here, or is this just the first wave of a wider Q4 purge? The morale in my department is effectively non-existent. We’re being asked to do more with less while constantly looking over our shoulders, and frankly, the lack of transparency is becoming unbearable. If you’re at the NJ site, how are things looking on the floor? Are they clearing out entire departments or is this more of a surgical strike? Stay safe out there, everyone. This place has changed a lot in the last two years.

The 'operational efficiency' excuse is getting old. They’ve been using that same tired playbook for years to juice the quarterly reports while gutting the actual workforce. It’s a vicious cycle where we keep getting leaner, yet the demands from leadership only grow heavier. At this point, I don’t think anyone actually trusts the transparency of these announcements. We all know 'streamlining' is just code for cutting costs at the expense of the people who built this place. It’s exhausting watching good talent get pushed out just to satisfy a spreadsheet for a few weeks.

I’m honestly surprised it took this long given how hard they’ve been pushing for offshore consolidation lately. It feels like the writing has been on the wall for the Elizabeth site for months, especially with the way they’ve been shifting project loads away from us. When corporate starts talking about 'realignment,' you know it’s time to start polishing the resume. Don’t wait for them to give you another update; take care of yourself first, because they clearly aren't looking out for anyone but the investors.
