Honeywell - Morale tanking? Performance review season feels different

So, performance review season just wrapped up and honestly, the mood feels pretty grim. Usually, there's some excitement or at least a sense of normal process, but this year it feels... heavy. Lots of talk about 'challenging economic conditions' and 'focusing on core competencies'. Saw some people getting ratings that felt really disappointing, even for solid performers. It's like the usual feedback is being overshadowed by a more cautious, perhaps even punitive, tone. Is anyone else feeling this? It's not just about the raises (which, let's be real, weren't great), but the overall message feels like we're being set up for something. Just my two cents, but the air in the virtual hallways feels thick.

I hear you. It definitely felt more intense this year. The 'challenging economic conditions' narrative was definitely a recurring theme in conversations, and it seemed to translate into harsher ratings for some folks who I know have been putting in the work. It's tough when the feedback doesn't seem to align with the effort. Hoping things lighten up in the next cycle.

Yeah, the vibe was definitely off. Felt like a lot more pressure and less recognition for steady contributions. The 'core competencies' talk felt like code for 'don't rock the boat'. It's disheartening to see solid performers get dinged. Wondering what the long-term impact of this approach will be on engagement.
