Just saw the official WARN notice for the Austin office. 43 people let go effective Jan 31st. It’s always the same story—leadership talks about 'strategic alignment' and 'optimizing our footprint' while the rest of us are left staring at empty desks. I know a few people who were impacted, and honestly, the severance package is barely enough to cover a decent runway in this economy. The atmosphere in the office has been dead quiet all week. Management sent out the usual 'business as usual' email, but we all know that's just PR fluff to keep the stock price from wobbling. Has anyone heard if this is just the start of a broader Q1 reduction, or was Austin specifically targeted for this round? Trying to figure out if I need to update my resume tonight or if I can breathe for another month. Stay safe everyone, keep your networks updated.

Another day, another round of 'strategic alignment' that destroys livelihoods while the executives keep their bonuses. It’s infuriating how they hide behind corporate buzzwords to avoid taking responsibility for the impact on families. I was at Honeywell for years, and the culture shift lately has been palpable. The 'business as usual' emails are the ultimate insult when your colleagues are clearing out their desks. Sending support to everyone in Austin—this industry is brutal, but you all deserve better than a cold WARN notice and a pathetic severance package.

I’m sorry to hear about the Austin cuts. Unfortunately, this feels like the new standard for Honeywell. They seem to cycle through these layoffs every few quarters, constantly shuffling resources while ignoring the long-term damage to morale and productivity. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if you’re next on the list for 'optimization.' To those impacted, take some time to breathe and start networking immediately. Don’t let the corporate spin get to you; these decisions are about numbers, not your value or your hard work.
