Stagnant pay and constant 'efficiency' scares

Is it just me, or does Honeywell feel like a sinking ship lately? Between the news of the 131 cuts in Elizabeth and the total freeze on promotions, I’m starting to wonder why anyone stays here anymore. They keep pushing these 'excellence' programs, but all that really translates to is longer hours and management trying to squeeze every ounce of productivity out of us before they decide to ship our roles elsewhere or automate them. I had a check-in with my manager last week, and when I brought up the pay disparity compared to industry standard, I was basically told to be grateful for 'job security.' Given the current climate, that wasn't exactly comforting. It feels like the company is prioritizing margin expansion over everything else, including the human beings actually keeping the lights on. I’m already updating my resume because I refuse to be the next name on a WARN notice. Has anyone else managed to jump ship recently? Is the market for our skillset actually better outside of this conglomerate, or is the grass just looking greener from the other side?

It is not just you. The culture at Honeywell has shifted dramatically over the past few years. It feels like they are treating the workforce as a disposable line item rather than an asset. The constant talk about operational excellence is just code for cutting corners and burnout. Once you have a few years of experience under your belt, it is definitely time to start looking elsewhere. Many of us are already updating our resumes because we know how this story usually ends. Don't wait for the inevitable layoff to start your search.

I've been here long enough to see these cycles before, but the morale currently feels lower than ever. The freeze on promotions while leadership talks about efficiency is a slap in the face to everyone putting in the extra hours. They focus so much on short-term stock performance that they have completely lost sight of the people actually running the business. If you’re feeling frustrated, just know that your feelings are shared by almost everyone in my department. It’s a toxic environment right now, and finding a company that actually values retention is the only way out.
