What are people's thoughts on severance packages here?

Hey all, I'm in a bit of a stressful situation. I've been with Honeywell for about 4 years, working in supply chain management. While there haven't been any official layoffs announced that I know of, there's been a lot of reshuffling and some teams have shrunk. It's making me think about worst-case scenarios. If the worst were to happen, what are the typical severance packages like at Honeywell? Does it vary much by role or years of service? Anyone who has gone through it (or knows someone who has) willing to share some insights on what to expect? Trying to be prepared just in case.

Sorry to hear you're feeling stressed about this. It's smart to think ahead, though. I haven't personally experienced a layoff at Honeywell, but I've heard from former colleagues in different departments. Generally, it seems like severance is tied to your years of service, with a few weeks per year of tenure being a common benchmark. Role might influence it a little, especially for senior positions, but the years of service seems to be the biggest factor. Don't forget to factor in any unused PTO payout as well, that's usually separate.

Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much unless there's more concrete news. Honeywell has been around forever, and while restructuring is normal in big companies, outright mass layoffs aren't their usual MO. If it did happen, severance packages can be pretty standard, often based on salary and tenure. They'll likely offer COBRA for a period too. Try to focus on your current role and performance; that's your best leverage regardless of what might happen down the line. Keep your resume updated just in case, but don't let the 'what ifs' consume you.
