It is definitely not just you. The office culture has felt incredibly strained over the last few weeks. Those constant 'check-in' meetings are a blatant attempt to track every minute of our day, and the lack of transparency from leadership is honestly exhausting. It feels like everyone is walking on eggshells waiting for the next shoe to drop. If they are planning significant changes, the least they could do is be upfront about it instead of hiding behind these vague corporate buzzwords while we scramble to justify our roles.
Hang in there. I have seen this cycle happen a few times before at Hormel, and the 'efficiency' language is almost always a precursor to headcount reductions. Management loves to use these audits to squeeze every bit of productivity out of us before they announce the cuts. Honestly, the best advice I can give is to keep your head down, document all your accomplishments, and start updating your resume quietly. It is a stressful environment, but looking out for your own interests is the only way to stay ahead of the game right now.
