The 'trickle' approach is honestly worse than a clean sweep. It keeps everyone on edge for months instead of just ripping the bandage off. Management loves using terms like 'synergy' to soften the blow, but it’s pretty clear they’re just trimming fat to appease the shareholders before the fiscal year ends. If you're in a department that isn't directly tied to core revenue, I’d suggest keeping your resume updated just in case. It’s a miserable way to operate, but that’s the reality of the current corporate climate.
I wouldn't panic just yet. These small notices are often just procedural cleanup rather than a full-scale exodus. Hormel has a long history, and they usually try to avoid massive headline-grabbing layoffs if they can manage the headcount through attrition or minor adjustments. It’s easy to get spiraled by the anxiety, but sometimes two people really is just two people. Focus on your actual work and try to tune out the office gossip; you can’t control the WARN notices, so don't let them wreck your productivity.
