Anyone else concerned about the latest Whitehall reductions?

It’s been a rough stretch for the Whitehall site. I know we saw the WARN notice hit back in 2020 for the 625 roles, but honestly, the anxiety in the plant hasn't really left since then. I’ve been talking to a few leads in the investment casting area and the mood is just totally drained. People are checking their emails every ten minutes waiting for the 'all hands' invite. Are we looking at another round of involuntary cuts, or are they going to try the 'voluntary separation' route again? Management keeps telling us that productivity is up, but the overhead feels heavy. If you’re currently on the floor, what’s the vibe in your department? Trying to figure out if I should stick it out or start polishing the resume before the market gets saturated with more talent from our sector. Any info helps.

The mood in the plant has been heavy for years now, and I honestly think that 2020 left a permanent scar on the culture here. At this point, I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop. It feels like we are constantly operating in a state of 'quiet layoffs' where they just slowly bleed out headcount through attrition or voluntary packages. Nobody trusts the leadership anymore, and the lack of transparency is making it impossible to plan for the future. I’m keeping my resume polished just in case, because I'm tired of the constant uncertainty.

I’ve heard the same rumors circulating on the floor. It’s hard to focus on meeting production targets when you’re constantly wondering if your department is next on the chopping block. Management loves to talk about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but we all know that’s just code for another round of cuts. Whether it’s voluntary or involuntary, it all feels the same when you're looking at your mortgage. I honestly don't think morale can sink any lower than it is right now, but they seem determined to find out.
