Anyone else feeling the squeeze at Howmet?

Hey everyone, been with Howmet for a few years now, and lately, the vibe feels... off. Not seeing any official announcements or anything, but there's definitely a sense of unease. Heard whispers about teams being consolidated, and a few folks I know who were in certain departments have suddenly been moved to 'new roles' or their positions just seem to have vanished. Is anyone else picking up on this? Is it just my site, or is this a company-wide thing? Trying to gauge if I should be updating the resume or if this is just normal business fluctuation. Feels like more than just 'fluctuation' though. Lots of 'reorganizations' happening lately. Anyone have any insights from their teams or managers? Trying to stay positive but it's hard when the background noise is all about cuts.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a shift in atmosphere too. It's more than just rumors; it feels like there's a definite tightening happening across a few areas. Been here for a while and things that used to be standard procedures are now going through multiple layers of approval. It's creating a lot of extra work and frustration. Definitely not just your site, I've heard similar things from colleagues at other locations.

Interesting that you posted this. I've been feeling it too, though I've tried to brush it off. The 'efficiency drives' and 'restructuring' talk feels a bit more intense than usual lately. Seeing people shifted around or positions eliminated without much explanation is unsettling. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan is. Trying to stay optimistic but it's hard not to feel the pressure building.
