Feeling the pressure at Howmet - anyone else?

Lately, the atmosphere at Howmet feels a bit tense. There haven't been any official announcements or anything concrete about layoffs, but the general vibe is definitely one of increased scrutiny and pressure. My team's workload hasn't necessarily decreased, but there's a lot more emphasis on 'efficiency' and 'cost savings.' It feels like every penny is being watched. I've also noticed some travel budgets being slashed and a general slowdown in new initiatives being approved. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's hard to tell if it's just a normal business cycle, increased market pressure, or something more significant. Just looking to see if others are feeling this pinch and what it might mean. It's making it hard to focus on the work itself when there's this underlying uncertainty.

I'm seeing similar trends. It's not just about cutting costs, but also about a shift in how we're expected to operate. There's a real focus on maximizing output with existing resources, which can be tough when you're already stretched thin. The pressure to prove value in every task is definitely palpable. Hopefully, it's a temporary phase and not a sign of deeper issues down the line. It's good to know I'm not the only one feeling this.

Totally understand where you're coming from. That 'efficiency' buzzword can mean a lot of different things, and lately, it feels like it translates to 'do more with less' without any extra support. The travel restrictions and slower approvals are definitely impacting workflow. It's creating a bit of uncertainty, and that's never great for morale. Hoping management communicates more clearly about the long-term strategy soon.
