Howmet: Anyone else feeling the uncertainty creeping in?

Hey all, been with Howmet for a few years now and lately, things just feel... off. Heard some whispers, saw some emails about 'efficiency improvements' and 'streamlining operations'. It's vague, but the vibe in my department is definitely tense. People are quieter in meetings, and there's a definite hush-hush attitude when you try to ask direct questions about headcount or future projects. Anyone else picking up on this? Not trying to cause a panic, but I've been through layoffs before at other companies, and these 'subtle shifts' feel familiar. Just looking to see if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just overthinking it based on my past experiences. Any insights or similar observations would be appreciated.

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. That 'efficiency' buzzword always makes me nervous. It usually means someone's job is on the line, whether it's directly stated or not. Management's been cagey, which just fuels the rumors. Hopefully, it's just standard corporate restructuring and not something more serious. Keeping my head down and focusing on my work for now, but definitely watching closely.

Definitely picking up on the tension. The silence from leadership on specifics is deafening. It's like they expect us to just accept the vague language and not ask questions. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but the history of these kinds of 'improvements' often involves a reduction in workforce.
