Hubbell - Performance review impact?

So, performance reviews are coming up soon at Hubbell and honestly, I'm a bit nervous. There's been a lot of talk about 'adjustments' and 'right-sizing' in recent town halls, even though nothing concrete has been announced. I've been busting my tail all year, but if they're looking to make cuts, I'm wondering how much that actually matters. Does anyone think performance ratings will be used as a primary factor if layoffs do happen? Or is it more about the business unit or role? Just trying to prepare myself mentally. Feels like a lot of uncertainty right now, and it's hard to focus on the positives when you're worried about job security. Any insights or past experiences with this during tougher times at Hubbell would be appreciated.

I totally get the anxiety, it's rough when there's so much uncertainty. Historically, while performance is always *supposed* to be a factor, during significant 'adjustments,' other metrics can unfortunately take precedence. Think about the specific needs of the business unit and the roles that are most critical going forward. It might be worth discreetly gathering intel from trusted colleagues or even your manager if you feel comfortable asking about departmental priorities.

It's completely understandable to be worried, especially with the whispers going around. While hard work is always commendable, when companies talk about 'right-sizing,' it often shifts the focus from individual performance to broader strategic decisions about which departments or functions are deemed essential for the company's future direction. Keep doing your best, but also try to be aware of the overall business landscape and where your role fits into it.
