I’m in the same boat. It feels like every time we turn around, the company is pivoting again. The constant talk about 'efficiency' and 'strategic alignment' has become corporate speak for cutting costs at the expense of the people doing the actual work. It’s impossible to feel secure when you see colleagues you’ve worked with for years getting pushed out. Everyone is on edge, and honestly, the lack of transparency from leadership is what makes the anxiety so much worse. You aren't being paranoid; it's just the reality of the current culture.
Honestly, I’ve stopped trying to read the tea leaves. I decided a few months ago that I’m just going to focus on my own skills and keep my resume updated. Humana used to feel like a place where you could build a career, but now it feels like a temp gig where you're constantly waiting for the axe to fall. If you're stressed, it’s probably a sign that you should start looking for an exit strategy just in case. It is better to be prepared and stay than to be caught off guard when the next announcement hits.
