Huntington - Anyone else seeing the writing on the wall?

Hey everyone. Been with Huntington for a few years now, and lately, the atmosphere feels... off. There's been a lot of talk about 'efficiency improvements' and 'streamlining operations' in internal comms. Usually, that's corporate speak for something else, right? I've seen a few key people in my department suddenly leave or get 'reassigned' to roles that don't seem to exist. My manager's been really cagey when I ask about team structure or future projects. We're not hearing any direct layoffs, but the subtle signs are there. Hiring freeze seems pretty solid, and a lot of discretionary spending is being scrutinized heavily. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on this or if I'm just overthinking things. Trying to prepare myself mentally and financially just in case.

I've been watching Huntington pretty closely myself, and I'm getting similar vibes. The 'efficiency' language is definitely a red flag, especially when coupled with unexplained departures or role changes. It's understandable to feel uneasy when the internal messaging feels deliberately vague. Hopefully, it's just a period of adjustment and not something more concerning, but I'd be keeping my resume updated just in case.

Reading your post and nodding along. The 'streamlining' and 'reassignments' you mentioned are classic signs that management is looking to cut costs, often through headcount reductions, even if they're not explicitly saying so yet. It's a tough situation for employees when the company isn't transparent about what's coming. I'd advise staying informed and preparing for potential changes.
