Huntington Bancshares - Rumblings from the branches?

I work at one of the smaller branches for Huntington, and the mood here has been really tense lately. We've been pushed hard on sales targets, which I get, but the support from corporate feels thinner than usual. Fewer training opportunities, more paperwork, and communication from higher-ups is sporadic. Heard some whispers from a regional manager that they're looking at 'optimizing our footprint,' which sounds like a fancy way to say closing some locations. No one's said anything directly to us on the front lines, but the lack of clarity is unnerving. It feels like we're on an island. Anyone else in a branch experiencing something similar? Is this a company-wide thing or just isolated to certain areas?

That's concerning to hear. It's always tough when the people on the front lines feel that disconnect from corporate. 'Optimizing our footprint' definitely raises a red flag for anyone working at a smaller branch. Hopefully, management can provide some clarity soon and offer the support your team clearly needs. Employee morale plays a huge role in customer experience, so it's in everyone's best interest to address these issues proactively.

Sounds like a familiar story across many industries right now. The pressure on sales and the perceived lack of support can be really draining. 'Optimizing the footprint' is corporate speak for something significant, no doubt. Wishing you and your colleagues the best as you navigate this uncertainty. Keep an eye on official communications, but also lean on each other for support during these times.
