Huntington Bank: Anyone Else Feeling the Pinch?

Hey everyone, lurker here but figured it's time to post. Been with Huntington for a few years now in a corporate role. Lately, things have felt... different. Budgets seem tighter, travel is way down, and there's a general air of caution. My team hasn't had any official word, and performance reviews were pretty standard, but the subtle shifts are hard to ignore. Seeing a lot of 'efficiency' talk in internal comms, which always makes me nervous. Anyone else in similar departments noticing this? Wondering if it's just industry-wide jitters or something more specific to HBAN. Trying not to panic, but it's tough not to speculate when things feel like they're slowing down. Any insights from folks in other areas or on the ground floor?

I've been seeing similar whispers from friends who work in different corporate functions at Huntington. The 'efficiency' language is definitely a red flag, often preceding some sort of restructuring or cost-cutting measures. It's understandable to feel uneasy when the internal messaging starts shifting towards tighter controls, especially if there's no clear explanation. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase related to the current economic climate and not indicative of deeper issues.

Definitely feeling the same vibe from my end, even though I'm not in corporate. There's a definite sense of belt-tightening that's trickling down. Less marketing collateral, fewer new initiatives being rolled out, and a general pause on anything that isn't absolutely essential. It's a bit unnerving when you can't pinpoint the exact cause, but the collective feeling of caution is hard to dismiss. Curious to see how this plays out over the next few quarters.
