Feeling the pressure in Diagnostics

Is it just me, or has the atmosphere at IDEXX shifted from ‘growth mindset’ to ‘fear-based management’ lately? I’ve been here a few years and the shift in leadership tone is night and day. Every meeting now feels like a post-mortem on why we aren't moving faster, despite the fact that we’re all doing the work of two people. After that Bristol announcement, the Slack channels went completely dead. Silence is never a good sign. Leadership keeps selling the vision of the future, but it’s hard to buy into it when you’re worried about whether your badge will work on Monday. Does anyone know if there’s a plan to stop the bleeding, or is this just the new status quo for the next few quarters?

I’ve noticed the same shift. It used to feel like we were all pushing toward a common goal, but now it feels like everyone is just trying to keep their head down and avoid being the next target. The 'growth mindset' talk feels completely hollow when the reality on the ground is just burnout and constant scrutiny. It’s hard to stay engaged with the company vision when you’re barely keeping up with the current workload, and the silence in the chat channels really says it all. People are definitely nervous about what’s coming next.

You aren't imagining things. The culture has definitely curdled over the last year or so. When leadership shifts from supporting teams to constantly hunting for someone to blame for missed targets, it kills innovation instantly. Everyone is exhausted from covering multiple roles while being told to move even faster, and it’s no wonder morale has tanked. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to justify sticking around when the atmosphere is this toxic and the disconnect between management's speeches and our daily grind is this massive. Take care of yourself out there.
