IDEXX: Anyone seeing performance review pressure increase?

Okay, so I'm not sure if it's just my department or if this is a broader thing at IDEXX, but the performance review cycle this year feels way more intense than usual. There's a lot more emphasis on 'impact' and 'alignment with strategic priorities,' which is fine, but it feels like the bar has been raised significantly. Some colleagues are talking about 'underperformers' being identified more aggressively. Is anyone else feeling this? It's making me a bit nervous, especially with the general economic climate. Feels like a precursor to something, but I'm trying not to jump to conclusions. Any insights from others who have been through this before at IDEXX, or who are seeing similar trends?

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a shift in the performance review process. The focus on 'strategic priorities' feels a lot more pronounced this year, and the language around 'impact' is certainly a lot more rigorous. It's understandable that companies want to align individual contributions with broader goals, but the intensity definitely feels higher than in previous cycles. It's creating a bit of an undercurrent of anxiety, for sure. Hoping it translates to more clarity and opportunity rather than just pressure.

My experience mirrors yours. There's a definite sense that expectations have been recalibrated upwards. The emphasis on quantifiable 'impact' and demonstrating alignment with company-wide objectives is substantial. I've also heard murmurs about a more focused approach to identifying performance gaps. It's a tough environment right now, and this added layer of scrutiny during reviews isn't exactly easing anyone's mind. Curious to see how this plays out long-term for employee morale and development.
