Just heard from someone in HR that the Holland site won't be the end of it for this fiscal year. The WARN notices are just the legal minimum they have to report publicly, but there are plenty of 'quiet' reductions happening through non-replacement of departing staff and 'reorganization' of internal teams. My department just lost two senior engineers, and management is calling it a 'strategic realignment' rather than a layoff to avoid the headlines. The atmosphere is toxic and everyone is walking on eggshells. Don't believe the internal memos about staying focused on the mission—start preparing your exit strategy now because the 80/20 scalpel is definitely still moving through the organization. Good luck to everyone currently in the trenches.

Can confirm the 'strategic realignment' label is their go-to script right now. I’ve seen three long-term leads in our division get pushed out in the last month without a single word to the rest of the team. It is a slow bleed designed to keep the numbers looking clean for shareholders while the actual work capacity craters. If you have any tenure at all, keep your resume polished and be ready to jump ship before your department becomes the next target for ‘optimization.’

That matches what I’m hearing from friends in other sectors of the company. It’s classic ITW—squeeze every ounce of productivity out of the skeleton crew left behind while pretending everything is business as usual. Don't wait for a formal notice; the writing is on the wall for anyone who doesn't fit the new 'streamlined' headcount model. Everyone I know who still has a job is either interviewing elsewhere or completely checked out. It's a sinking ship and the management team is just shuffling deck chairs.
