ITW - Anyone else feeling the pressure? Macro headwinds affecting us?

Hey everyone, throwing this out there to see if it's just my department or if others at ITW are feeling a shift. We've been hearing a lot about the general economic slowdown and rising costs, and honestly, it's starting to feel a bit…tense around here. Not hearing any direct layoff talk, thank god, but there's definitely an undercurrent of 'belt-tightening' and a general pause on some initiatives. Anyone else seeing this? Are budgets being scrutinized more heavily? Are managers being cagey about future projects? Just trying to gauge the general sentiment across different divisions. Curious if anyone in finance or operations has seen anything concrete that might explain this vibe, or if it's just the usual noise. Trying to stay positive, but it's hard not to notice when things feel different.

Yeah, definitely feeling it here too. Budgets are tighter than I've seen in a while, and even small project approvals are taking way longer. There's a general sense of caution, which I guess is understandable given the economic climate. It's making planning for next quarter a real challenge. Trying to stay optimistic, but the constant scrutiny on every penny is definitely noticeable.

I've noticed that too. A lot more questions about ROI on everything, and any new spending requests are being met with a lot of skepticism. Seems like the focus is really on core operations and efficiency right now, with anything else being put on the back burner. It's a bit of a different vibe than it used to be, for sure. Hoping things stabilize soon.
