Hey everyone, Been with ITW for a few years now and things have been pretty stable, but lately I've been hearing some whispers about potential headcount reductions. Nothing concrete, just general 'buzz' around the water cooler and some uneasy feelings in meetings. Anyone else picking up on this? Are there specific divisions or business units that seem more impacted, or is it more of a company-wide thing being considered? I haven't heard any specific layoff rumors myself, but there's definitely a sense of caution permeating the company. The economic climate is uncertain, and I think ITW, like many large industrials, is likely reviewing all costs. It wouldn't be surprising if they were looking for efficiencies. Focus on what you can control and keep performing well.

Interesting you're hearing that. My division has been pretty quiet on that front, business seems steady. However, ITW is so diversified that it's very possible some segments are feeling more pressure than others. Keep an ear out, but try not to let it get to you too much unless something concrete surfaces.
