It’s getting harder to ignore the writing on the wall. After the last round of 'strategic restructuring' chatter, I started keeping an eye on our spending approvals. Everything is getting blocked, even minor tools we need to actually get the job done. I spoke to a friend in HR earlier today, and while they didn't explicitly say the word 'layoff,' they wouldn't give me a straight answer on whether we are safe until the end of the year. I’ve seen this pattern twice before at other retail companies—the budget cuts, the vague 'alignment' emails, and then the surprise calendar invites on a Thursday morning. I’m not waiting around to be part of the stats. Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else is feeling the same anxiety. If you’re at Arteixo or any of the regional offices, please sound off if you’ve heard anything concrete. It feels like we are all just waiting for the other shoe to drop at this point.

I’ve been at Inditex for years, and the current atmosphere definitely feels different. The budget freeze isn’t just about austerity; it’s a clear signal that leadership is bracing for a downturn. When basic operational tools start getting rejected, it’s usually the final stage before they start cutting headcount. I’m already refreshing my portfolio and discreetly reaching out to my network because waiting for an official announcement is just too risky at this point.

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for weeks. The constant talk about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' is corporate speak for budget slashing and job losses. I’ve noticed the same pattern in other departments where roles are slowly being consolidated under the guise of optimization. You’re doing the right thing by prepping your profile now. Better to be ahead of the curve than blindsided when the next round of cuts hits.
