Throwaway for obvious reasons. I have a buddy in HR operations who mentioned that leadership is putting together 'impact packages' for a potential reduction in force slated for late summer. They’re framing it as 'realigning resources toward AI and core grocery infrastructure,' which is usually code for trimming the fat in departments they view as non-essential. I don’t have a confirmed date or the specific departments, but the chatter is that it’s going to be a 5-10% cut across the board to satisfy investor demand for better margins before the next earnings call. If you’re working on legacy features or anything not directly tied to the advertising platform, I’d suggest updating your resume and making sure you have your documentation in order just in case. Don't rely on the 'everything is fine' messaging from the top; protect yourself now.

It's the same story every quarter with this company. They constantly talk about realignment and efficiency while the actual product experience keeps sliding downhill. If these rumors are true, it’s just another sign that they’ve run out of ways to grow and are shifting into pure austerity mode to keep the stock price from bottoming out. Don't be surprised if the support and operations teams get hit the hardest again. If you're currently there, I’d suggest updating your resume and looking at other platforms before the announcement actually drops.
