From what I've heard (and seen from friends at other tech companies), severance packages usually include 2-4 weeks of pay per year of service. L4 with 2 years, you're probably looking at 4-8 weeks *base* salary. They usually include some continued benefits coverage (maybe a month or two) and sometimes offer outplacement services to help you find a new job. Don't forget to negotiate! It never hurts to ask for more, especially if you have a strong performance record.
Honestly, don't get your hopes up too high. Instacart's been through some tough times. Severance packages are often the first thing companies cut back on when trying to save money. While 2 weeks per year is a common baseline in the industry, it wouldn't shock me if they offered less. Document everything you've done while working there. You may have to fight for what you think you deserve.
