Any truth to the rumors about department consolidation?

Been seeing some chatter on the internal boards about potential 'structural alignments' coming down the pipeline for the procurement and materials management teams. Nothing official has hit our inbox, but the amount of talk about 'redundant roles' in the latest leadership update has me pretty concerned. I’ve heard whispers that they might be looking to centralize a lot of the regional responsibilities into a single hub, which usually means they aren't looking to keep all the existing staff on board. If anyone has intel on whether these are just rumors or if HR is actually prepping for a transition, please share. I’d rather know now than be blindsided during a surprise calendar invite. It feels like we are in this weird limbo where leadership is hinting at changes but refusing to name them. Stay safe out there, guys.

I’ve been hearing the same whispers regarding the procurement shift. Whenever leadership starts throwing around terms like 'structural alignment,' it’s almost never good news for regional teams. I wouldn't be surprised if they’re planning to gut the local offices to cut costs under the guise of efficiency. Start updating your resume now just in case; it's better to be prepared for a layoff than caught off guard when the official email finally drops. The writing seems to be on the wall with this one.

Honestly, don't buy into the panic just yet. Every time a new leadership update rolls out, people start doom-scrolling and reading into buzzwords that don't always lead to mass layoffs. Sure, some internal shuffling might happen, but IP has centralized departments before without it turning into a total bloodbath. It’s likely just standard corporate posturing to keep everyone on their toes. Keep doing your job, wait for an actual announcement, and try not to let the rumor mill ruin your peace of mind.
