Hey everyone, long-time lurker here. Seeing a lot of mixed signals in the materials sector globally. Given IP's position, I'm curious what others in the Materials division are thinking. Have any of you noticed specific impacts on our product lines or demand forecasts? I'm not hearing any direct layoff rumors, but the broader economic climate has me a little on edge. Just trying to get a pulse on how others are feeling about stability and future projects within our segment. Any insights or observations would be appreciated. Is anyone seeing shifts in customer orders or inventory levels that seem significant? Trying to stay ahead of the curve here. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I've been seeing similar mixed signals myself. Demand for certain packaging grades seems to be holding up okay, but other specialty papers are definitely showing some softness. Forecasting has become more challenging, requiring a closer look at regional variations rather than broad strokes. While I haven't heard any official layoff chatter, the increased focus on cost efficiencies across the board is noticeable and makes you wonder about the long-term project pipeline. Staying adaptable seems to be the key right now.

Honestly, I'm feeling a bit cautious. The cost of raw materials continues to be a significant factor, and while we're seeing some moderation, it's still a tightrope walk. Projects are being scrutinized more heavily, with a focus on ROI and immediate impact. The global supply chain disruptions are still a background hum, affecting lead times and inventory management. I'm hoping for some clearer direction soon, but for now, it feels like we're navigating through a bit of fog.
