Yeah, I've definitely picked up on that vibe in Materials too. It's like a low hum of 'wait and see' rather than the usual proactive push. We've had a couple of minor procurement requests get more scrutiny than usual, and timelines for some new material testing seem to have stretched out without clear reasons. Management's been pretty tight-lipped, which just adds to the general uncertainty. Hoping it's just standard Q3/Q4 budget conservatism, but it feels a bit more pronounced this year.
Totally get what you're saying. In my corner of Materials, it feels like we're being asked to do more with less, or at least justify every single spend with a microscope. There's a noticeable hesitation to greenlight anything that isn't absolutely mission-critical. It’s not panic stations, but the 'cautious optimism' has definitely shifted towards just 'cautious.' Wondering if it's industry-wide or something specific to how IP is positioning itself right now.
