I’ve definitely felt that shift too. It used to feel like we were a mission-driven company focused on innovation, but lately, it feels like a factory line where the only thing that matters is how the slide decks look for the next quarterly review. The silence in the cafeteria is the biggest tell; people aren’t collaborating anymore because they’re too worried about where the headcount axe is going to fall next. It’s hard to stay motivated on R&D when management seems more concerned with optics than supporting the people actually building the robots.
Totally agree. The mood in Sunnyvale is abysmal right now. You can feel the anxiety in the hallways, and honestly, who can blame anyone? When you watch your teammates disappear while leadership keeps touting our 'market dominance' in town halls, it creates a massive disconnect. It feels like we’ve traded our engineering culture for a corporate machine that only cares about keeping the stock price steady. Most of us are just keeping our heads down, doing the bare minimum, and waiting to see if things ever normalize or if this is just the new status quo.
