Interesting question. I've noticed a similar tightening from my perspective on the technical side. We were expecting some new heads to come on board for an upcoming initiative, but those conversations have definitely stalled. Managers are being asked to justify every single headcount request, and it feels like the bar has been raised significantly. It's frustrating when you're trying to push forward with innovation, but resource allocation seems to be undergoing a pretty serious review. Hopefully, it's a temporary phase.
Heard whispers about this too. While I'm not in hiring management directly, the buzz I'm picking up is that the company is being much more conservative with new hires across the board. Budgets are reportedly under tighter scrutiny, and there's a focus on optimizing existing teams before bringing in more people. It could be a strategic move to consolidate resources or prepare for a potential economic shift. Makes sense to pause and reassess in uncertain times, though it definitely impacts those looking to grow their teams or join the company.
