Anyone else getting 'special' calendar invites?

Just got pulled into a 15-minute 'check-in' with my skip-level and an HR partner I’ve never spoken to before. No agenda attached, just a vague invite. I’ve been at Invesco for a few years and this feels completely out of the ordinary for our group. A few of my peers on the floor have mentioned receiving similar invites, and honestly, the anxiety in the office today is palpable. Is this just some new 'alignment' initiative or are we actually looking at a round of stealth layoffs? I’m preparing for the worst and updating my resume tonight just in case. If anyone has heard anything about upcoming shifts in the Asset Management division or if this is just standard corporate bloat-trimming, please share. Really trying to gauge if I should be expecting a 'thank you for your service' email by EOD.

That sounds like the classic pre-layoff routine. When HR starts showing up in calendar invites without a clear agenda, it usually means the decision has already been made and they are just ticking boxes for the transition. I've been through this dance before, and it rarely ends with a simple 'check-in.' Update your resume, download any personal documents you need, and keep your head down until you get more clarity. It’s better to be over-prepared for the worst than caught completely off guard.

Everyone is currently on high alert because Invesco has been shifting its strategy lately, but don't spiral just yet. It could honestly be a poorly communicated leadership initiative regarding the new performance tracking rollout. The lack of an agenda is definitely unprofessional and creates unnecessary stress, but it doesn't automatically mean you're on the chopping block. Stay calm, listen to what they have to say, and take notes. If it turns out to be bad news, at least you'll have had a few hours to process it rather than reacting in the room.
