Invesco - Anyone else seeing headcount freezes?

Hey everyone, posting anonymously because, well, you know. I've been hearing rumors for a while, but it seems like hiring has effectively stopped across several departments at Invesco. My manager alluded to a hiring freeze for the rest of the year, and I haven't seen any new roles posted that weren't already in the pipeline for a while. Budgets feel tighter too, with travel and training requests being scrutinized more than usual. It's making me a bit nervous about job security, even though there haven't been any official announcements about layoffs. Just wondering if others are seeing similar trends in their areas of the firm. Is this a company-wide thing or isolated incidents? Any insight would be appreciated.

I've been at Invesco for a few years now and definitely sense a shift. My team hasn't been able to backfill a critical position that opened up two months ago, and conversations about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' are becoming more frequent. It's hard not to feel a bit uneasy when you see the hiring tap being turned off, especially when budgets feel like they're being squeezed. Makes you wonder about the long-term strategy.

Yeah, it’s not just you. Over in my department, we were expecting to bring on a couple of junior analysts this quarter, but those offers were rescinded last minute. My manager mentioned something about 'strategic reevaluation' and 'prioritizing existing resources'. Seems like the belt-tightening is real, and it's impacting more than just travel expenses. Hopefully, it's a temporary measure and not a sign of bigger issues down the road.
