Invesco - What's the deal with the hiring freeze rumors?

Okay, this might be nothing, but I've heard through the grapevine that there's been an informal hiring freeze across several departments at Invesco. I know we've had a tough market for asset management in general, but it feels like more than just market conditions. Specifically, I heard about roles in the data analytics and quant teams being put on hold indefinitely. Is anyone else seeing this? Are teams suddenly struggling to backfill open positions, or are managers being told to hold off on new hires? It's hard to get a straight answer, and the silence is making people nervous. If this is true, what does it signal for the rest of the year? Just trying to understand the current situation on the ground. Anyone in recruiting or management have any info they can share, anonymously of course?

I've heard similar whispers. It's definitely unsettling, especially if it impacts specialized areas like data analytics. The market has been challenging, no doubt, but a freeze across multiple teams feels like a significant strategic shift, not just a reaction to current economic headwinds. It's worth keeping an eye on, as it could signal broader restructuring or a re-evaluation of growth priorities within the firm.
