Invesco - What's the vibe on the ground?

Been at Invesco for a few years now in [mention a general department like 'investments' or 'operations']. Lately, feels like there's a lot of hushed conversations and a general sense of unease. Nothing concrete has been announced, but the whispers are getting louder. Performance reviews felt a bit more critical this cycle, and there's been a noticeable slowdown in hiring for some teams. Has anyone else picked up on this? Curious if this is a widespread feeling across different divisions or just my team/location. Trying to gauge the overall sentiment and if this is something to be genuinely concerned about, or just the usual industry jitters with market volatility. Anyone have any intel or insights they're willing to share? Trying to stay informed without panicking.

I've been here about the same amount of time, and yeah, I'm picking up on similar vibes, especially in the product development side. It's not just you. There's definitely a feeling that things are shifting, and not entirely in a positive direction. The increased scrutiny during reviews is palpable, and it feels like everyone's a bit more on edge. Hoping it's just a cyclical thing, but it's hard to shake the feeling that something's brewing.

Interesting to hear others feel this way. In my area, which is more client-facing, it's been less about internal unease and more about the market pressures impacting how we operate. We're definitely seeing more strategic shifts from leadership, and while no one's explicitly saying 'cutbacks,' the emphasis on efficiency and resource optimization is pretty clear. The hiring freeze you mentioned aligns with what I've observed too. It's a tense atmosphere, for sure.
