Any updates on the G&M transformation strategy?

It’s been radio silence on the General Merchandise side since the last update. We’re being pushed hard on productivity metrics, but the resource allocation just isn’t there. A few of us were talking today and noticed that several contractor renewals have been blocked indefinitely, which feels like a precursor to a wider headcount reduction. Does anyone have any insight into whether the target operating model is shifting again? It’s draining coming in every day wondering if the project you’re working on is about to be canned to meet some arbitrary efficiency target. The lack of transparency from the top is the most frustrating part. We’re just told to 'keep delivering' while the project budgets are seemingly being gutted behind the scenes. If you’ve heard anything about shifts in the strategy or potential team consolidation, please drop a comment. Just trying to gauge if this is a temporary squeeze or something more permanent.

The atmosphere in the office is definitely shifting. Management is laser-focused on efficiency metrics, but the disconnect between those targets and our actual staffing levels is becoming impossible to ignore. I’ve noticed the same pattern with contractor freezes, and it’s fueling a lot of quiet anxiety about the next quarter. If the target operating model is undergoing another pivot, they need to be transparent. Everyone is exhausted by the constant uncertainty, and it’s starting to affect our output. Expecting us to drive this level of transformation without consistent resources just isn't sustainable for the team.
