Current projects at Jacobs feeling the squeeze?

What's the vibe like on the ground at Jacobs lately regarding project pipelines and resource allocation? I'm in a division that's usually quite stable, but lately, there seems to be a bit more scrutiny on budgets and a general slowdown in new project starts. It's not impacting headcount directly that I can see, but the feeling is there that things might be tightening up. Wondering if this is specific to my area or a broader trend across Jacobs. Are project managers getting pressure? Are proposals being shelved? Curious to hear what others are experiencing, especially in the core engineering sectors. Is this just a seasonal dip or something more significant?

Yeah, I'm seeing something similar in my group. It feels like there's a bit more emphasis on profitability and efficiency across the board. Project managers are definitely being asked to justify every line item, and there's a cautious approach to bidding on new work. It’s not panic stations, but definitely a shift from the 'full steam ahead' mentality of a couple of years ago. Seems like everyone's being asked to do more with less.

From my perspective, it's not entirely surprising given the current economic climate. A lot of firms are feeling the pinch. We've had a few whispers about project delays and some client budgets being re-evaluated. However, Jacobs has historically navigated these cycles pretty well. I haven't seen widespread issues, but I agree, the focus has sharpened on resource management and making sure every project is delivering value. It's about smart execution right now.
