Project freezes at Jacobs?

Hey everyone, been working at Jacobs for a few years now, and lately, things feel... different. A lot of projects I was expecting to ramp up or even start have been put on hold indefinitely. My manager is being super vague about it, just saying 'resource reallocation' and 'strategic realignment.' Sounds like corporate speak for 'we don't have the money or the green light.' Anyone else in engineering seeing this? Are bids getting pulled, or are existing projects just drying up? It's making it hard to plan my workload, and honestly, a little nerve-wracking. Definitely not hearing any buzz about layoffs directly, but this feels like a precursor. Curious if others are experiencing similar project slowdowns or freezes across different divisions.

Yeah, I'm seeing similar rumblings in my division. It's definitely causing some unease. The lack of clear communication is the worst part – it makes it hard to plan anything and leads to a lot of speculation. Seems like across the board, there's a general slowdown and a shift in priorities. Hope this is just a temporary phase and not a sign of bigger issues to come.

This sounds familiar. While I haven't heard specific project freezes mentioned, there's a definite slowdown in new opportunities coming in. The market feels tighter, and it's making it harder to secure new work. The vague explanations are frustrating, but I'm trying to focus on delivering the current projects to the best of my ability and staying adaptable for whatever comes next.
