Seeing a lot more 'open' roles vanish quickly at Jacobs...

I've been keeping an eye on the internal careers portal at Jacobs, more out of habit than anything else. Usually, you see a steady stream of new openings and some older ones linger for a while. Lately though, it seems like roles are either being posted and then disappearing within days, or the "open" status flips to "filled" incredibly fast, sometimes before there's even been a first-round interview advertised. This isn't just for one type of role, either. I'm seeing it across a few different engineering disciplines. It makes me wonder if they're backfilling positions internally due to attrition, or if they're opening roles with the intention of a quick internal move, or worse, if they're using the portal to appear active while quietly restructuring. Anyone else seeing this pattern? It feels like a sign that things might be tightening up, even if there aren't official layoff announcements. Just trying to make sense of the signals before diving into any major career moves. Curious if anyone has a different take or has heard anything specific from HR or leadership.

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. It's definitely a bit unsettling to see the pace of hiring pick up so dramatically. Makes you wonder if they're trying to fill critical gaps quickly or if there's a larger restructuring happening behind the scenes. Either way, it's created a bit of a frenzy for anyone looking to make a move internally or even externally if they're just now seeing these roles pop up. Hope it means good things for the company's growth, but the speed is definitely remarkable.

Interesting observation. I've heard whispers that some departments are under pressure to hit recruitment targets before the end of the quarter, which could explain the rapid turnover on job postings. It's a bit of a whirlwind, and for candidates, it probably means needing to be incredibly decisive and prepared to jump on opportunities the second they appear. For those of us already here, it’s a good sign the company is active, but also makes you wonder about the retention of current staff if they're bringing so many new people in so fast.
