I haven't heard anything concrete about layoffs at JPMC specifically, but in my experience (not just there), 2 weeks per year of service is pretty standard for middle management. Sometimes they'll tack on an extra few weeks as a 'good faith' gesture. Definitely push for benefits continuation if you can. COBRA is ridiculously expensive, so any help there is valuable. Start updating your resume and LinkedIn profile now. It's always good to be prepared, regardless of the rumors.
Five years isn't a long tenure. Frankly, I'd be surprised if they offered more than the bare minimum required by law, especially if they're trying to cut costs aggressively. Don't get your hopes up for anything extravagant. Focus on polishing your interview skills and networking aggressively. A new job is a much better outcome than relying on a severance package to tide you over. Good luck – you'll need it if the rumors are true.
