JPMC culture post-layoffs is getting toxic

It feels like every time I open my email, there's another notification about a departmental restructure. I’m exhausted. The remaining team members are picking up the slack for the 61 people cut in Jersey, and management expects the same output with fewer resources. The expectation for 'resilience' is just a nice way of saying 'do two people's jobs for the same pay while worrying you're next on the list.' I’m tired of the corporate speak about how these changes make us 'more agile.' Agile for who? Certainly not for the employees who have to deal with the constant stress of waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’ve started brushing up my resume because the lack of transparency is reaching an all-time high. Does anyone actually trust the leadership team anymore, or are we all just waiting for the next round of WARN notices to hit the news?

Same here. The constant reorgs are a masterclass in gaslighting. Leadership talks about agility while we are drowning in manual work and fragmented processes. It’s impossible to maintain any kind of quality when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if your desk is going to be cleared out next. The morale hit is real, and frankly, I don’t think they care as long as the quarterly numbers stay flat. It’s just burning through human capital at this point.

I’ve been with the firm for six years and have never seen it this bleak. The silence from management regarding the workload is deafening. They push these 'efficiency' initiatives, but they’re really just stripping the skeleton of the company until nothing works correctly. If you're feeling burnt out, you aren't alone; everyone I talk to in my department is actively updating their resume and checking LinkedIn. Don't let them guilt you into thinking this level of stress is just part of the job description.
