Rant: Another 'town hall' promising us the world...

Seriously, these town halls are a joke. More corporate buzzwords than actual information. 'Embrace change,' 'synergize,' 'innovate.' Blah, blah, blah. They told us everything is fine, the company is doing great, and we're all one big happy family...right before quietly announcing a hiring freeze. How dumb do they think we are? I'm so sick of the lack of transparency. I'm putting in my 9-to-5, collecting my paycheck, and not giving a damn about 'going the extra mile' anymore. My department hasn't been performing great, but the managers deflect and pretend it's all sunshine and roses. This place is a joke.

I feel you. I went through the same thing last year. All sunshine and rainbows until they 'restructured' and my entire team was gone. My advice? Start looking now. Even if you don't *want* to leave, knowing you have options will make you feel a lot less trapped and a little more in control. Polish that resume and see what's out there. Good luck.

Yep, sounds about right. These town halls are just HR's way of trying to boost morale without actually fixing the problems. Honestly, though, what did you expect? They're a massive corporation. Transparency isn't exactly in their playbook. Just keep doing your job, documenting everything, and protecting yourself. Don't believe the hype.
