Is the HPE acquisition looming over us?

It’s been deathly quiet in the office lately, and the rumor mill regarding the HPE deal is just burning me out. Everyone keeps saying that once the ink is dry, we’re going to see a massive consolidation of duplicate roles. I’ve been here for five years, and I’ve never seen morale this low. Management is giving us the usual 'business as usual' talk, but you can tell even the VPs look nervous during the all-hands. I’m just trying to figure out if I should start prepping my resume now or wait until the inevitable 'synergy' announcement hits. Has anyone heard anything concrete about whether engineering is safe or if they're planning to gut the support side first? I’m tired of checking Slack for updates every ten minutes. It’s hard to stay focused on projects when you’re wondering if you’ll have a badge that works on Monday.

Honestly, start updating your resume yesterday. I went through a similar acquisition years ago, and management always says 'business as usual' right up until the day they hand out the pink slips. The silence in the office is the biggest red flag—people stop talking because they’re either interviewing elsewhere or terrified of saying the wrong thing. Don't wait for them to decide your future for you. Protect yourself now, even if it turns out to be nothing, because the mental toll of the waiting game isn't worth it.

I wouldn't jump ship just yet. Every big merger comes with these exact jitters, and most of it is just internal noise amplified by watercooler talk. HPE isn't buying Juniper just to gut the talent pool; they want the tech and the expertise behind it. Sure, there will be some overlap to sort out, but 'massive consolidation' is often just fear-mongering from people who don't actually have a seat at the table. Take a breath, keep your head down, and wait for actual news rather than rumors.
