Another round of cuts? 30 more roles gone

Just saw the latest WARN notice hit for December 2nd. It’s only 30 people, mostly out in CA, but at this point, it feels like death by a thousand cuts. The company loves to frame these as 'strategic alignments' or 'optimizations' in the internal newsletters, but it’s becoming impossible to ignore the constant shrinkage. I’ve been here long enough to see the culture erode, and it’s becoming exhausting waiting for the next shoe to drop. Does anyone actually feel secure anymore? Management keeps preaching about growth and digital transformation, but the math just doesn't add up when we’re shedding headcount every single quarter. I feel for those affected in Ventura and San Ardo—the job market isn't exactly kind right now for banking ops roles. Just tired of the 'we are a family' email followed immediately by a reduction notice.

It is honestly becoming a bad joke at this point. Every time they send out those glossy 'strategic alignment' emails, I just roll my eyes. They talk about efficiency and growth, but all we see is the talent pool drying up and the workload getting dumped onto whoever is left. Thirty people might seem like a small number in the grand scheme of a bank this size, but it is the lack of transparency that really kills the morale. We are all just waiting for our turn to be 'optimized' out of existence.

I have been checking the WARN filings religiously for months now, and you’re right—it is just constant, slow attrition. At this stage, I don’t think anyone here feels remotely secure, regardless of their department or tenure. Leadership acts like these cuts are isolated events, but the cumulative effect is a shell of the company it used to be. It is draining to show up every day wondering if the next newsletter will be the one that finally lists your own role as part of a restructuring plan.
