Is KeyCorp hiring freeze a sign of things to come?

I've noticed for the past month or two that my team hasn't been able to get approvals for any new requisitions. Even for critical roles. HR keeps saying it's 'budgetary review' but it feels like a full hiring freeze. This is pretty unusual for KeyCorp, especially during what should be a busy season. Makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes. Are they bracing for something, or just tightening belts? Anyone else in recruiting or management at KeyCorp seeing this? Trying to get a sense of the broader picture. Not panicking, but definitely curious.

Yeah, I've been hearing similar rumblings across different departments. It's definitely not just your team. The usual pace of onboarding has ground to a halt, and any attempts to bring in new talent are met with extended delays or outright rejections, citing 'resource allocation reviews.' It's making strategic planning incredibly difficult. Makes you wonder if there's a larger economic outlook they're reacting to, or perhaps an internal restructuring on the horizon that's being kept quiet for now. The lack of clear communication isn't helping morale either.
