KLA - Anyone else in a 'frozen' hiring/promotion situation?

Hi everyone, Been with KLA for about 3 years now and things have felt pretty steady until the last quarter or so. My team lead mentioned during our last 1:1 that our department's headcount is effectively frozen for new hires and internal transfers, and promotions are on hold for the foreseeable future. They didn't give much explanation beyond 'current market conditions' and 'prioritizing existing projects.' This is the first time I'm experiencing something like this here, and it's got me wondering if this is happening elsewhere in KLA. Are budgets being squeezed? Are they anticipating a slowdown or perhaps tightening the belt in anticipation of future headwinds? It's not a layoff announcement, but the practical effect feels similar – growth and advancement opportunities seem to have hit a wall. Anyone else hearing similar things or experiencing a hiring/promotion freeze in their division? Just trying to gauge the temperature and see if this is an isolated incident or a company-wide trend. It's a bit unsettling not knowing what's behind the sudden pause.
