September cuts: severance details and morale

Just saw the WARN notice for the 94 people heading out the door on the 30th. Honestly, the mood around the Milpitas campus has been pretty toxic lately. It feels like every quarter we’re holding our breath to see if the axe falls on our specific team. I’ve been here for five years and I’ve never seen the internal vibe this anxious. For those of you who got hit or know someone who did, how is the severance package looking this round? I heard rumors it’s getting stingier, but I’m not sure if that’s just water cooler chatter. Trying to decide if I should start actively interviewing elsewhere or if I’m just being paranoid. The 'growth' narrative they keep pushing in the all-hands doesn't seem to match the reality of these continuous small-batch layoffs. Stay safe out there.

The atmosphere at Milpitas has definitely shifted. It’s no longer just about meeting targets; it’s about surviving the next round of cuts. I’ve spoken to a few people who were let go recently, and the consensus is that the package has been scaled back compared to previous years. The lack of transparency from leadership is what really stings. Everyone is walking on eggshells, constantly looking over their shoulder instead of focusing on their actual projects. It’s hard to stay loyal to a company that views you as nothing more than a line item on a spreadsheet.
