Kroger - Seeing more pressure on 'efficiency' metrics?

Been at Kroger for a while now, and the past few months have felt different. The focus on "efficiency" has gone through the roof. It's not just about hitting sales numbers anymore; it's about how fast you can do things, how little time you spend on breaks, how quickly you can check out a customer. My managers are constantly talking about "labor optimization" and "productivity." We're getting nudged to finish tasks faster, even if it means cutting corners slightly on presentation or customer interaction. It feels like they're trying to squeeze every drop of output from the current staff. I've heard whispers about potential "restructuring" down the line, but nothing concrete. It just feels like a lot of underlying tension and pressure to perform at an unsustainable level. Anyone else feeling this intense push for efficiency, and what's your take on it? Trying to figure out if this is just my store or something bigger.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It feels like they're squeezing every last drop out of us. Used to be you could have a quick chat with a customer, make sure the shelves looked decent, and still get your work done. Now it's like a race against the clock for everything. Makes it hard to actually enjoy the job or feel like you're providing good service when you're constantly worried about your time. It's definitely a different vibe lately.
