Kroger - That Mshale article... anyone have inside scoop?

So, saw that article on Mshale about layoffs affecting '? employees' on August 14th. That date is coming up fast. Is this legit? Has anyone heard anything from their store or district managers? My manager has been super cagey lately, avoiding direct questions about staffing. It's creating a ton of anxiety. We had a full department meeting last week and the topic of 'operational adjustments' was brought up, but no specifics were given. Just the usual platitudes about 'adapting to market conditions.' Feels like they're being deliberately vague. Anyone know which departments or locations might be hit? Trying to brace myself and maybe start looking around if this is real. The uncertainty is the worst part.
